The Ukesters began in 2017 under the direction of Delores Moore. In 2018, the group made their first public appearance. Over the years, our membership has steadily grown. Jennifer Phillips now leads the group.

The Ukesters have had many varied performance opportunities. They are committed to the local community by providing entertainment to churches, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. Each October, the Marshall Medical Centers sponsor the Pink Pumpkin Run benefitting breast cancer. The Ukesters can be found cheering and playing for the runners as they pass by.

They have played at the Memphis Uke-n-Roll and The Star Spangled Banner for the Huntsville Trash Pandas baseball team and the Huntsville Havoc Hockey team.

In February of 2024, The Ukesters were honored to participate in the Alabama Bandmasters Association District 2 Honor Band Festival. They performed "It's A Ukulele Day" written by Norine Mungo and specially arranged for ukulele and wind band.

In March of 2026, The Ukesters were invited to play at the Homegrown Taproom in Nashville, Tennessee.
